Last year, the Ukrainian government seized two of Windscribe’s servers with the suspicion that these servers had been monitoring user data. Apparently, these servers were unencrypted as the VPN provider didn’t consider Ukraine “a highly sensitive region.” However, no evidence exists that the VPN monitored any user traffic.
For traffic monitoring purposes, a user had to be connected to a Ukraine server while manually configuring OpenVPN along with a DNS resolver which seems highly unlikely. That’s why we’d like to see this VPN go through a third-party audit to prevent any similar issues in the future.

Really liking the update. Hadn’t used Windscribe for a bit so was surprised when I saw how cool the new design was and the extra features. Love the news feed part of it too, it’s a great way to keep up to date with updates and know what’s going on. I’ve used Windscribe abroad and i’ve found it to work perfectly. Really happy I decided to upgrade before my recent holiday as it allowed me to keep connected with the world. Windscribe also has a great customer support system which I know previous comments had complained about. I do think Windscribe has upgraded their services and have taken into account the wants and wishes of their customers.

Gotta give it to Windscribe, they’ve done a great job when it comes to keeping their VPN at a high level of satisfaction. I did start off on the free plan but felt I needed ‘more’ which was why I decided to give it a go and upgrade to Pro. After the upgrade I felt I was getting the services I needed which is why I’d definitely recommend going Pro and paying that little extra for reliable services,. Works well. I’ve tried it in different countries as I’ve traveled a bit and I’ve never had any problems. US Netflix also works like a charm, and I’ve found the security systems to be among some of the best! It’s a good investment and one I’m glad I made.

Windscribe is a lot better if you use the pro plan. You get better speeds in my opinion but it it worth upgrading too. I guess it’s based more on how much you plan on using it? Personally, I feel Windscribe has done a good job so far. I’ve been happy with it but I do read reviews that say the opposite. I think it’s more of a trial and error for some people, try it out and see if it works good enough for you, if it does, upgrade, if you don’t like it, look elsewhere 🙂 For me it was worth the upgrade.

I don’t know what it is about all these people posting gratuitous positive reviews about Windscribe especially complimenting their speeds.
I can’t think of any VPN ranking site (bias or otherwise) that states their speeds are good. Independent user testing supports this. Then again, perception is reality for many. So, if they think they’re getting great speeds, they believe they are.

Speeds are very slow with Windscribe. Often the other free providers have better speeds.
There’s only one option with the iPhone and it’s IKEv2. Should you wish to use OpenVPN, you must download the app and use it instead. The iPhone app is quite limited.
Often Windscribe support remains mum on any issues and complaints when people post in the online redditforum.

I used Windscribe for 2 years and cannot complain about anything. I had to contact their support exactly zero times, since everything just works.
My speed is actually slightly FASTER when connected to the VPN, I know it’s weird, but it’s true, which is why I’m confused why it’s not 5/5, especially when the reviewer was amazed himself.

Windscribe is definetly the hottest VPN at the moment. Great performance, great features, and very reliable connections. A lot better than other VPN’s i’ve given ago, especially speed wise. Whether it’s downloading or uploading, I’m still able to do without dying and waiting in vain. The features such as ad and tracker blockers, being able to unblokc US Netflix and other geo restriced websites is a mega plus. The level of secirity is fantastic too. Worth every cent!

I have used this VPN for about 2 years and has very little down time. However if you wish to watch BBC iplayer you will find it blocked by the BBC. As I dont use netflex I dont know if it works. This VPN DOES NOT leak DNS unlike fastestvpn( fastestvpn leaks in every way possible and does not seem to honor its money return). So I give windscribe 4.5/5 well worth getting and stacksocal does a good life time offer

Hi Hannah, the pro plan is great and it gives you the unlimited data you may need. If you’re someone that uses Windscribe on a daily basis then I would suggest you consider going prob. There is an error in the comparison field. 10GB/month limit is for the free, Limited plan. The paid plan is unlimited (but some say there still is a 1TB/week limit).
